Desktop App
Guided setup, visual management, Kit/Skill browsing, projects, MCP, activity, updates.
Optional visual control center for local AgentKit state — separate purchase. Not a coding-assistant replacement; not required to use Kits.
Three surfaces
Guided setup, visual management, Kit/Skill browsing, projects, MCP, activity, updates.
Exact commands, automation, headless hosts, full command coverage.
Local browser UI when deliberately started and safely configured (loopback by default).
Installing Desktop does not put ak on PATH. The standard CLI package does not include the Desktop window.
Licenses
Kits and Desktop are not the same entitlement. Buying one does not unlock the other by default.
Unlocks Engineer / Marketing Kits via CLI (and browse in Desktop if you have the App). Existing ClaudeKit purchase accounts keep Kits via ak login.
Unlocks the AgentKit Desktop app and device management — buy separately if you want the UI. Does not include Kits by itself.
